So yet another one of my favorite new books gets cancelled! It's a real shame. I noticed this book from Boom! because of the Phil Noto covers and the other awesome variant covers, but then got hooked on the story inside. It was one of the main books that got me REALLY hooked on digital comics because of the flow of the panels worked especially well. It was a nice, cool, slick reading sci-fi comic that now will end at issue #9 unfortunately. Hopefully someday it will return.
I was hoping to actually try and get Sam Humphfries to use this as a variant cover for the book and was going to hold off on posting until I digitally colored it so I can pitch him the idea, but now that it's cancelled there is no chance of that. I still may digitally color it in my style, just because I am so HAPPY with the way this piece came out, it's just calling me to color it. Then I'll still send it to Sam just for the hell of it, and hope he likes it.
Below are all my pics from the show including nearly 50 sketches that I did. I wasn't able to document EVERY sketch or drawing I did, so if anyone doesn't see theirs below and has a pic of it, please forward to to me and I will gladly add it!
Once again, a HUGE thank you to everyone who went to the show. I especially want to thank my helpers, including my best friend, Lauren, my wife, Kristy and my little brother, Chris. Could NOT have done it without you three, and I owe you tremendously! You did a fantastic job. I love you guys, and really appreciate the help.
To everyone who stopped by my table and to all my fans who stopped by multiple times, I thank you so much! Seriously, it was a wonderful time, and it was all because of you, the fans! I THANK YOU for your interest and your support!
I can't WAIT until next October to see you all again and make even more fans!
